Fall is my favorite season!! For many reasons. For one, it’s the time of year when air becomes crisp and brisk and the leaves change to a rainbow of vibrant, fiery colors. For another, this is when the stores sell clothing in MY color palette, which is Copper (Autumn), so the pickins’ are abundant! Last, I do love to layer, as you probably know, so fall is the perfect time wear a soft, sensuous blouse with a sweater or jacket over it, or a lightweight dress with a pullover sweater, scarf, and boots. Just layer it on.

Fall is the perfect time of year to start thinking about how to repurpose and extend your summer wear by adding layers over light tops and dresses, and making a list of the new fall pieces you need to not only stay current, but to round out your last year’s fall wardrobe. This is where denim jackets come in — the perfect topper for a summer dress or lightweight top. Add a blanket or cozy infinity scarf, a pair of tights and booties, and you’re warm and cozy.

Here’s my take on the trends for fall. I’m betting you have some of these trends in your closet. And if you don’t, now is a great time to add them:

  • Plaid everything
  • Oversized (be careful with this one, if you wear oversized top, pair with fitted bottom)
  • Quilted and textured (try this with accessories)
  • Bold florals
  • Bold shoulders and leather (get your badass on!)
  • Clean, lean, and chic white (all fall and winter, wear your white…)
  • Shearling furs, both faux and real

Shoes this fall are round, pointy, square, and narrow heels are as trendy as block heels – you name it, it’s ALL there and in almost any form of shoe. Tall boots are as “in” as booties. The sneaker trend, with white sneakers the “it” choice, are unstoppable. The point is pretty much anything goes this fall. You should be able to find the toe, heel, and design you’re looking for — there is something for everyone.

Here are some of my favorite plaid blazers, sweaters, denim jackets, and shoes I’m excited about (These pieces are from stores that offer affiliate links, which means, at no additional cost to you, I will be paid a very small commission when you buy through these links):
