The answer I found out recently is YES! Skincare products can be natural and effective.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been much more conscious about what chemicals and preservatives I put on my body as I have read there is a cumulative effect. So, whatever potentially harmful ingredients I can eliminate from my body the better! Whether you buy into this or not, I learned there are natural products that use state of the art skincare ingredients that actually work beautifully to restore (or maintain) your skin to a glowing, healthy state. I’m all for that!

The following is a product review of a skincare line from Simple Beauty Minerals (SBM). Since using all of the products as a complete regimen for about a month (I had been using a few of the products previously) I’ve seen a dramatic difference in my skin. I was surprised because I’ve tried every product under the sun. I’ve stood at department store counters and had the beauty expert smear lotions and oils on my face. I’ve spent high end prices to get disappointing results. With my new regimen from SBM my skin has taken on an actual glow! I now touch my face and feel softness and elasticity that I thought was long gone. Plus, I admit I was not consistently exfoliating, so now that I’ve added it to my daily routine blemishes and bumps have disappeared.

Honestly, there are many skincare product lines that bring great results. I think the trick is finding a product line with the right combination of: 1) An expert who will design the right skincare regimen for your needs and wishes, 2) The ingredients you believe in, and 3) A price point you can afford. Simple Beauty Minerals has all three.

Here’s how I’ve been able to turn back the hands of time, or at least, slow down the clock:

I was introduced to Simple Beauty Minerals by the Founder, Lisa D’Ettorre-Liguori, a couple years ago. Lisa purchased my Style Success Online Course. As I recall, she was looking for a style course to take it with her while on vacation two summers ago. I was thrilled because my program was just released, and when I found out about her company, I was excited to get her feedback about the course. Well, she loved it! We began talking about colors and style, and I discovered she lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, where I lived for thirty years. So, instantly Lisa and I began to collaborate. We’ve produced three live training webinars together where we talked about the new season’s colors and how to choose the right makeup and clothing colors for you. Naturally, I was curious about her makeup and skincare products, so I began trying them. One at a time. But I never had a skincare routine.

Here are the steps that Lisa taught me to do EVERY DAY, which I had never done before. I was not taught by my mother how to care for my skin — she used soap to wash her face! I did not learn skincare science while studying to be a stylist. As an outdoorsy woman, I was always a minimalist, and I never took the time to figure out a good regimen for my skin. Now I have it! It’s never too late to begin caring for yourself…

Step 1: Cleanse

Previously, I was cleansing my face with Aveeno, but I tried the Green Tea Lotion Cleanser for morning and evening cleansing, and I love it. It’s a gentle, water-soluble and creamy lotion cleanser. Lisa explained that it’s rich with antioxidants to minimize free radical damage (free radicals are a factor in aging skin) and essential oils added to nourish, replenish and balance your skin. It removes my makeup residue at night, and gently cleanses my face in the morning.

Step 2: Tone

The first product I ever purchased from SBM was the Crisp Cucumber Toner. It sounded delicious!

And toner was something I never used. I put the toner into a spray bottle, suggested by Lisa, and morning and evening I spray the fresh essence of cucumbers on my face. It feels moist, refreshing, and according to Lisa, it’s infused with pure, cooling cucumber hydrasol and rich in anti-inflammatory properties. I love the smell, and I always want to drink it!

Step 3: Exfoliate

After washing my face, I apply the liquid exfoliant (which I’ve never used before) on my face. In the beginning, I wondered how can a natural liquid be an exfoliant? I was used to using some sort of physical exfoliant that rubs the outer layer of skin off your face. Well it does work! Radiance Reveal contains Alpha and Beta Hydroxy Acids (AHA’s and BHA’s) of Bilberry, Sugar Cane, Sugar Maple, Orange, Lemon and Willow Bark Extracts which are blended together in this special formula to enhance skin tone and skin smoothness with exfoliation. It is smooth, natural, and I’m able to use it day and night (check with Lisa before doing this) with glowing results!

Step 4: Nourish Morning

Then, it’s time to take your vitamins!!! In the form of a serum. Take a squirt of Vitamin C Serum and rub it gently on your face. The serum is a skin rejuvenator! Vitamin C Serum can inhibit age spots, brighten excessive darkening of the skin and possibly precancerous lesions such as m melanomas. Vitamin C is a strong antioxidant. It can penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin. So, as I began to use this serum, I rubbed the excess on to my decolletage area above my bust. My skin was always red and suffering hyper pigmentation from sun exposure. Well, I noticed about a week later that the redness disappeared! Imagine what it’s doing for my face!

Step 4: Nourish Nighttime

At night, Lisa instructed me to alternate with her new Bright On serum. I’ll let you read the science behind the natural ingredients, but in general, this is a blend of brightening ingredients that reduce redness while battling future damage and helping skin retain moisture, tone, and elasticity so important for women over fifty. I am not sure which ingredient is delivering the rich, spicy scent, but I love the smell!

Step 5: Moisturize

I’ve spent so much money on moisturizers, mostly on Lancome products, but my skin never really felt moist with those cremes. So, I asked Lisa to recommend a creme that would make my skin feel more luxurious and moist. Well, she delivered. And it’s a simple solution — Olive Oil Creme! Who knew? Well…I guess the Italians knew. I know women who swear by olive oil. This whipped olive oil creme hydrates and replenishes my skin. It feels rich and luxurious on my skin. And I love the gentle Frankincense scent.

Step 6: Sooth & Protect

Last step is to pat a little eye cream on my puffy, tired eyes in the morning and at night. I’ve been using Lisa’s Pure Bliss Eye Cream. This all botanical formula addresses the eye area issues of skin wrinkling, loss of elasticity, puffiness, hyper pigmentation and the reversal and prevention of free-radical damage. It’s important to nourish this area, especially as we age, hopefully gracefully… I like how it feels and smells.

Conclusions

In my quest to look and feel more confident and radiant as I get older, I’m very happy with the gentle and effective results I’m getting from Simple Beauty Minerals. I know in a product review I’m supposed to find the good and bad points of the products, but honestly, I couldn’t find negative things to say about SBM, except maybe the containers aren’t as fancy as the high end department store brands. But, then, the price would be higher. And, who really cares about packaging? It’s what’s inside that counts!

I highly recommend speaking with Lisa Liguori as a first step, as she can help you design the right combination of products for you. Lisa lists her boutique company’s values on the website, which are: Authenticity. Purity. Integrity. Simplicity. She is committed to growing slowly, maintaining the integrity of her products, and providing 1:1 customer service. And the prices are reasonable, especially compared to high end department store brands. I am so happy to recommend Simple Beauty Minerals and all you have to do is take one look at Lisa (and me!) and you’ll see the glow! You can reach out to Lisa Liguori in a few ways:
