Frequently Asked Questions & Answers
Here are some questions and answers about the Style Success in Your Second Act Program
Why are you offering two options for the program?
A:Several past participants who work full time found it difficult to attend the live weekly calls. They requested a completely self-guided program they could complete at their own pace, so I created a subset of the original program (Option #1) that just contains the videos, audio recordings, and access to the Private Facebook Community. The majority of participants want one-on-one time with me to receive personal style guidance so I continue to offer the LIVE components that include a 30-minute Skype consultation with me and 6 weekly live group calls (Option #2). By offering two options you should be able to select the program that works for you and your schedule.
What specifically is the difference between Option #1 and Option #2?
A:Here’s the difference:
Option #1 is completely self-guided so you can work at your own pace. It includes 15 style video lessons and exercises; 4 recordings of past Style Maven Mastermind Group Calls, a Color Palette Card, and access to the Private Facebook Community where you can interact with Linda and other participants. There are no live meetings with Stylist, Linda Waldon, or live weekly group calls. The advantage is you can work at your own pace and there are no live meetings to attend, which is ideal for working women. You have 90 days to complete the program.
Option #2 is both self-guided and live. You get everything from Option #1, so you can work through the videos and exercises at your own pace each week. In addition, you receive a 30-minute, live Skype consultation with Linda Waldon and 6 weekly live Style Maven Mastermind group calls when Linda reviews the style lesson materials and answers your questions. This program is ideal for women who want to receive style advice from Linda and who benefit from live interaction on the weekly calls. The self-paced and live elements of this program are powerful and effective!
I’ve never attended a live online meeting from my computer. Do I need special computer equipment? How do I join the virtual meetings?
A:Nowadays, it’s so easy to attend live meetings via your computer. You can use a PC or Mac, or even your iPhone. I use a program called Zoom, which sets up a virtual conference meeting between you and me. All you do is click on the Zoom link provided on your workshop instructions page, and Zoom places you in the “meeting room” with me and the other participants. You can turn your video camera (most computers have a built-in camera) on or off, and you use your built-in speakers to talk. If you’d like to practice ahead of time, I’m happy to set up a test meeting with you. Just ask!
How long does it take to go through the entire program?
A:Option #1 is self-paced, so it’s completely up to you! I give you 90 days to complete the program, which is more than enough time to watch all the weekly videos, do the exercise activities, and complete your style makeover. It’s well worth the time! Option #2 has been extended from 30 days to 6 weeks to give participants more time to watch all the video lessons and perform all the exercises. It’s pretty intensive, but well worth the time investment! .. ..
When can I start the program?
A:Option #1 is self-paced, so you can purchase the program and get started any time.
Option #2 has a start date because we meet weekly on live Style Maven Mastermind calls. I haven’t set a date yet for the next 6-week program.
What will I learn in the videos?
A:Whether you’ve got a new body shape to dress, or you just want to polish your old look, shopping for clothes can be an overwhelming experience if you don’t have a defined style. Let’s face it, stores present you with a rainbow of colors and styles; some that will work for you and some that won’t! Knowing your best colors and personal style preferences helps you select clothes that coordinate with your existing wardrobe, so you’ll always have outfits you love to wear. Because, no matter how many clothes you have, if they’re not the right color and fit, you won’t wear them!
These videos will save you time and money buying the wrong clothes. I can’t tell you how many closets I have cleaned out that are filled with unworn clothes—some with the tags still on! I hear from my clients how much time and money I save them because now they know exactly the right colors and styles to buy.
“I thought the videos were the perfect length and very well done. Linda has a great speaking voice
and inspires confidence with her enthusiasm!”“I now enjoy shopping thanks to Linda. Before I looked at it as a grit-my-teeth torture session.
Now I feel more confident to pick colors and styles that work best on me.”
Why do I need a color palette card?
A:Your True Colors color card contains the colors that will enhance your natural coloring, making your eyes sparkle and your skin glow. With a color card to guide your purchases you will save money and avoid buying clothes that hang unworn in your closet.
Plus, you’ll be able to mix and match everything in your closet because they all belong to the same color family! No more guessing about how to coordinate colors! When you shop with your color guidelines, anything that falls outside those parameters shouldn’t be considered unless you’re very sure it will work for you.
One of my recent clients told me that I have saved her thousands of dollars on purchases she would have bought without the guidance of her color card. She said, “Linda, I always here you telling me to simply ignore the clothes on the rack that aren’t my colors. That advice alone saves me so much time and money!”
How is this style experience going to help me feel more confident?
A:In this program you’ll learn how to see your body as a work of art instead of seeing all the flaws. When you see your body (without judgment) as it really is, and you know how to dress it attractively to highlight your beautiful coloring and shape, you can begin to practice the art of confident dressing.
As women of a certain age, I know it is difficult to silence our inner critic — it’s a well-oiled machine chiming up whenever anything goes slightly wrong. This style experience will teach you how to make peace with your inner critic, and instead dress it up in deliciously beautiful clothes and accessories and have so much fun with your appearance that you drown out your inner critic!
Confidence comes and goes. Confidence requires self-love and self-compassion. No one is confident all the time, so having some tools to get back on the confident track is the key.
How can I build up my confidence?
A:The short answer is take a leap of faith and get out of your own way. The long answer is understand and honor your strengths and weaknesses. When you know yourself, inside and outside, you can accept your weaknesses (which we all have), while highlighting your assets and allowing your strengths to shine. You know the value of exercising your muscles to stay fit. What about exercising your self-image muscles to stay confident? I call this “Self-Image Fitness.” Having a fit self-image requires exercising your confidence muscles!
One of the best ways to exercise your self-image fitness is to make an effort to look good every day. Take the time to create a pleasing outfit that makes you smile when you look at yourself in the mirror. People will notice, too! When you look good you feel good. Your confident look will make a good first impression!
The “Style Success in Your Second Act” program gives you the knowledge and power within yourself to take responsibility for your own put-together look. You’ll learn how to create attractive ensembles that empower you to make positive changes in your life, be authentic, and look your best.
What if I have questions while I’m going through the videos?
A:We do our best to make the tutorial videos crystal clear, but you still may have questions about how to apply the information to your own style. There are several ways to get your questions answered:
1 – Write down your style questions and ask Linda when you meet with her on the weekly, live Q&A calls, or when you meet with Linda 1:1 via Skype.
2 – Ask your style-related questions anytime on the Private Facebook Community and Linda (and other participants) will offer you answers and style advice. We’re all in this together!
3 – If you finish the training, and still feel like you want to spend more time with Linda, you can purchase a Love The Skin You’re In VIP Style Session.
